Bangalore, Sept 10: Pankaj Advani won the time-format World Billiards Championship for the sixth time beating his own country men Devendra Joshi here on Wednesday. Pankaj hence emulated his Malta feat where he had achieved a double in 2005.

The KSBA, which also happens to be his home turf, was abuzz with anticipation as spectators had turned up in large numbers in his support. The tremendous fan following he enjoys must have increased after his superlative performances over past few days.

Earlier, in an all-Indian semi-final, the 23-year-old Bangalorean shut-out the veteran and eight times champion Geet Sethi, twice in 5 days.

Joshi, on the otherhand had prevailed over Rupesh Shah in the second semi-final.
